Portland Trailblazers hire Chauncey Billups as their new Head Coach

After firing former head coach Terry Stotts, the Portland Trailblazers have been on a coaching search for three weeks. That coaching search is finally over as it was announced that Chauncey Billups would be the Portland Trailblazers new head coach.

Billups spent this season being a part of Tyronn Lue’s coaching staff for the Los Angeles Clippers. Before becoming an assistant coach, Billups was a player. Billups had a 17-year career as he played for teams such as the Nuggets, Celtics, Knicks, Timberwolves, and Pistons. As a player, Billups won an NBA championship, Finals MVP, and was named a 5-time all-star.

Chauncey Billups brings great experience to the Trailblazers locker room; Billups knows what it’s like to go through hardships as a player. Billups went from Being Labeled a bust to being an NBA champion and winning Finals MVP. It will be interesting to see if Billups can lead the Trailblazers over the hump that Stotts couldn’t.
