Kyle Lowry- Miami Heat
After back to back 40 point performances on Fanduel, it’s baffling to see Kyle Lowry’s price at only 6,900 on the blue site. Given the matchup vs Cleveland-who rank 3rd in the NBA in defensive efficiency- looks on paper to be a tough matchup. For fantasy purposes, this matchup couldn’t be more of a gold mine for Kyle Lowry. The last time we saw the veteran point guard in action, his stat line in 29 minutes were as follows- 16 points, 3 rebounds, 14 assists, 2 steals and only 2 turnovers. For context on that game-Miami played Chicago, who are battling a Covid-19 outbreak that left their team short handed. Entering into tonight’s contest Vs Cleveland, Lowry has put up at least 7 assists in his last 5 games. The veteran has dished at least 10 dimes in the last 2 games. If Kyle Lowry can get involved on the defensive end getting steals, his ceiling can be higher than the point guards priced above.
Jalen Brunson- Dallas Mavericks
With Luka Doncic resting on Sunday & Monday with a sore left ankle, the star young point guard will miss both games of the back to back for Dallas. That opens the spotlight for Jalen Brunson to lead his supporting cast into a matchup against Charlotte. The Hornets defense ranks- 30th in opponent points per game, 30th in opponent assists per game and last in the NBA in defensive efficiency. This could be the Jalen Brunson show.
In his last game with Luka Doncic out vs OKC, Jalen Brunson tallied 30 minutes for a 31.3 Fanduel point performance. He nearly achieved a double double and fell one rebound short. He led Dallas in scoring vs OKC and Brunson now has scored double figures in the last seven games.
Cody Martin – Charlotte Hornets
SG/PG| 5,200 Fanduel
Coming into tonight’s matchup vs Dallas, The Trio of Terry Rozier, Gordon Hayward and Kelly Oubre are all priced in the 7,000 range for the Hornets. Scary Terry is coming back after his battle with Covid-19, so it’s hard to project what his minutes and fantasy output will be tonight. Gordon Hayward has 37.5, 49.5, 36.3 Fanduel points over his last 3 games. The veteran has logged 40+ minutes in those games with stat sheet stuffing performances. Kelly Oubre has taken a starting role for Charlotte due to their own Covid-19 outbreak and he’s contributed in a mighty way-scoring at least 22 points in those games, averaging 41 minutes.
I could understand paying up for any member of that I trio mentioned earlier, however, That leaves the underpriced Cody Martin as a go to option on tonight’s slate. He’s played at least 42 minutes in the last 3 games and his Fanduel output in those matchups have been-23.2 Vs PHI, 30.5 vs PHI, 48.1 vs SAC. I could see his rhythm growing the more he plays.
Giannis Antetokounmpo- Milwaukee Bucks
SF| 11,500 Fanduel
The reigning MVP is clearly an elite fantasy option on a nightly basis and highly capable of posting ceiling breaking numbers to win your tournaments. His price on the blue site is 11,500, which is nothing new to DFS players across the industry. Over this past weekend, Giannis averaged 30.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, 8.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.5 blocks per game over the last two wins. He’s a core building block in lineups tonight.
Kristaps Porzingis- Dallas Mavericks
No Luka, No Problem. Kristaps enters tonight vs the last ranked defensive efficiency team in the NBA, the Charlotte Hornets. His price being so high- given his last 3 games from a fantasy points perspective have been around 27 points per game- is reference to how talented Kristaps is, Luka being out & how this matchup is bliss for Porzingis. I think he bounces back tonight vs a Charlotte Hornets team that has no one that can adequately matchup against Porzingis’ length. P.J. Washington is a game time decision and Mason Plumlee is out. I’ll let you ponder the possibilities of Kristaps Porzingis’ output.
Nikola Jokic- Denver Nuggets
C |11,400 Fanduel
Considering Jokic just torched the Spurs for 71.4 Fanduel fantasy points, I think it’s slightly disrespectful He’s right below Giannis Antetokounmpo in pricing on the blue site. He’s had a triple double in three straight games heading into the weekend, but Jokic couldn’t extend that streak on Saturday. Even still, Jokic finished with his second game of the season with at least 35 points and 15 rebounds. He’s better than his MVP season & he’s a core building block tonight for your lineups. The matchup is against Washington- who ranks 19th in defensive efficiency on the season, but 29th over the last three games. Daniel Gafford and Montrezl Harrell will have their hands full trying to contain Jokic.
