12/15 Fanduel NBA DFS Great Value Plays

With eleven NBA games on the slate tonight, the stars are out and the lineup construction possibilities are endless. Whenever you’re piecing together a lineup for Fanduel, one thing no one could, should or would argue is- there’s a huge need for great value plays especially on a jam packed game slate. As the scramble begins to set and secure your lineups, this article will focus on value plays worth rostering tonight in your tournaments.

Point Guard

Trey Burke-(DAL)$4,300

Burke had his best performance of the season on Monday Night for the Mavericks supplying 35.6 Fanduel fantasy points. He finished with 22 minutes played, 22 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists. Luka Doncic was out for the Mavericks and that appears to be the case tonight vs the Los Angeles Lakers. Is Burke going to get 20 minutes a night? Absolutely not. Monday was the highest minutes output for Burke this season. The matchup vs the Lakers- who rank 29th vs point guards- is ideal. Tonight, Burke’s circumstances are similar to produce fantasy impact. Even if it’s not the same boom as his previous contest, the value should still reward you.

Davion Mitchell-(SAC)$4,700

Mitchell has played 24-plus minutes in each of his last 8 games. Even in the midst of a blowout vs Toronto, the rookie out of Baylor’ role remains a constant for the Kings. I could focus on the percentages, but I’ll spare you the negativity and focus on Mitchell’s value. To reach 5 times the value of his price tag on the blue site, Davion Mitchell will need 23.5 fantasy points vs Washington on Wednesday Night. The Wizards are a middle of the pack defensive team- ranking 24th in defensive efficiency in the last 3 games, and currently 19th on the season. The minutes will be there for Mitchell, so it’s just a matter of being of value during his time on the court.

Spencer Dinwiddie-(WAS)$5,100

The price continues to fall for Dinwiddie and he’s in the perfect spot tonight vs Sacramento to prove why his price should be higher. It wasn’t that long ago when Spencer Dinwiddie was a hot commodity when Bradley Beal was sidelined. Things have changed drastically since that wonderful time to be a Wizards fan or a owner of Dinwiddie’s fantasy services. Currently sitting 7th in the Eastern Conference, the Wizards enter tonight’s matchup vs the Kings favored by 2 points. Early predictions have this game closer, leading to a possible minutes increase for Dinwiddie-He’s logged 24 minutes in back to back contests. His fantasy output isn’t tied exclusively to scoring since Spencer Dinwiddie is capable of filling the offensive box score. He leaves more to be desired defensively and that’s where his impact could increase his ceiling on Fanduel. For one night, Dinwiddie could hit 5 times the value if he reaches 25 fantasy points. Over the last 3 games, Sacramento ranks 26th in defensive efficiency. This is important because the Kings defense has dwindled since accumulating a three game losing streak. The matchup is tougher vs point guards, so you could see Dinwiddie be faded all together in DFS formats, leading to lower ownership. You could differentiate your lineup & also hit good value by plugging Spencer Dinwiddie in your contests. Live on the edge.

Shooting Guard

Duncan Robinson-(MIA)$4,600

With Tyler Herro & a laundry list of Miami Heat players being in health and safety protocols, there should be more opportunities to go around for the role players for Miami. In his first increased run due to Covid-19’s impact on the Heat, Duncan Robinson earned 32 minutes of on court time. 6 points, 5 rebounds & 3 assists was enough to register 18.5 Fanduel fantasy points. To be honest, It’s exciting to see the marksman contribute in other categories besides scoring. His role is solidified and due to Covid-19 circumstances, it will only increase tonight @ PHI. If Philadelphia has a weakness, it’s being ranked 18th in opponent 3 point percentage and 28th in defensive rating. To reach 5 times the value, Duncan Robinson would have to reach 23 Fanduel fantasy points.

Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot-(ATL)$3,800

Projected to be a starter tonight vs Orlando- who rank 27th in defensive efficiency over the last 3 games, 27th in points allowed, 29th in assists allowed, 28th in field goals allowed, 26th in opponent 3 point percentage- TLC has the opportunity to provide massive value for our lineups tonight. The matchup is beautiful on paper, as the Magic rank 22nd against SGs. With Trae Young being the premium point guard option, the clear projection is Trae Young should feast and everyone around him will eat too. TLC has been a big factor for the Hawks in December, replacing the minutes of Cam Reddish, DeAndre Hunter & Bogdan Bogdanovic. In games with over 20 minutes, TLC compiled these fantasy point totals: 16.1 @ IND, 25.8 vs CHA, 31.4 @ MIN, 9.3 @ BKN & 15.1 @ HOU. To hit 5 times the value, TLC would have to reach 19 Fanduel fantasy points. That’s achievable on the road in Orlando.

Small Forward

Lauri Markkanen-(CLE)$5,000

Markkanen has now scored double digits in four of his last five games. Since returning from health and safety protocols Nov. 22 vs Brooklyn, Lauri M. has 4 20-plus point performances. Tonight’s matchup vs HOU-who rank 28th in points allowed & 27th vs SFs- should be a blowout, since the odds have the Cavaliers favored by 9.5 points. Markkanen’s minutes could reduce if there’s a blowout vs the typical 30 minutes being in a competitive game. To hit 5 times the value, Markkanen would have to reach 25.5 Fanduel fantasy points.

Gary Harris-(ORL)$ 4,400

Will the veteran Gary Harris ever be productive in the 30 plus minutes he gets a night for the Magic? That’s my question I present to you, but it’s slightly rhetorical. The answer is No & Maybe. Gary Harris’ fantasy output is closely linked to his scoring not his minutes played. For that reason, this suggestion is based solely on matchup vs ATL. The Hawks rank 22nd in 3 pointers allowed, 23rd in points allowed, 28th in steals and 26th in field goals allowed for this season. The matchup is lovely, we just have to hope that Gary Harris gets this memo. To reach 5 times the value, Gary Harris would need 22 Fanduel fantasy points.

Power Forward

Jarred Vanderbilt-(MIN)$5,600

At this price, reaching 5 times the value would see Jarred Vanderbilt have at least 28 Fanduel fantasy points. Currently, that’s below his floor. Over the last two games, Jarred Vanderbilt is averaging over 30 fantasy points with 30 minutes in each contest. We don’t love Vanderbilt for scoring, we love Him for doing a little bit of everything to contribute to the box score. He’s now locked into the starting lineup and its a no brainer because of the production boost Vanderbilt provides. The matchup vs Denver is tough enough for us to think about tempering our expectations, but I remain confident in this selection-even with a game featuring Jokic, Gordon and Green, on the horizon.

Paul Reed-(PHI)$3,700

This play is totally based on: Georges Niang entering into Covid-19 health and safety protocols, Joel Embiid being questionable(ribs), the Sixers recalling Reed ahead of Wednesday’s game vs MIA & Reed potentially being slept on because of the massive names at center on tonight’s slate. Reed averaged 20.3 points and 12 rebounds in the G-League. If Joel Embiid misses tonight games, Andre Drummond now sees his role increase. This would have ripple effect on Reed, especially without Niang. Please note: Charles Bassey could steal some shine away from Paul Reed- after going for 37 fantasy points. In games with over 14 minutes played , Reed’s numbers are as follows: 20 @ CHI, 27.2 vs MIL, 16.3 @ DET. To reach 5 times the value, Reed would have to reach 18.5 Fanduel fantasy points.

Hassan Whiteside-(UTA) $5,300

Did you know that there’s only two players that rank higher in fantasy points per minute than Whiteside over the last three games? Those players are: Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid. Yes. Really. It’s crazy to think about, right ? Hassan Whiteside averages 1.51 fantasy points per minute over the last three games, 1.4 fantasy points per minute over his last ten games. 32.5 @ PHI & 45.8 @ WAS were his latest fantasy outputs. I don’t think I have to sell you anymore, however, if you’re still on the fence- Whiteside put up those performances in 15 minutes and 19 minutes respectively.
