Here’s your recap from the world of fantasy hoops action last night: Kevin Durant & Kyrie Irving both scored 60 fantasy points & congratulations if you played them together- we call that the Killer Nets Stack, Joel Embiid destroyed the Lakers with 30 & 10, DeAndre Ayton gave you the game of his season-59.3 Fanduel fantasy points, Both Indiana Studs, Halliburton & Hield, supplied 50+ in a loss to Sacramento, Donavan Mitchell got blown by the freight train Celtics-still got 49.7 fantasy points, Kyle Lowry avoided the drama that was Jimmy Butler vs. Udonis Haslem/Coach Spoelstra-en route to 43.7 fantasy points, Obi Toppin(46.2) was the best value play at 3.5k, Jordan Poole made me shake his hand- I didn’t believe he would have a great game VS Heat, and he delivered 43 Fanduel points. Twenty-three players went for the 40 piece fantasy, including two OKC Thunder players not named SGA or Giddey(it was Roby & Maledon).
The fireworks were aplenty; another night brings out more possibilities. Here, I’ll be providing a primer to get you prepared for tonight’s five-game slate. It’ll feature unique stats, takes, and insight about players from every position to help you in roster construction for your Fanduel lineups. Trust yourself, filter the information to make your own decisions & good luck in your contests.
•CLE vs. (-4.5) TOR| O/U:215.5
•IND vs. (-12.0)MEM| O/U: 235.5
•WAS vs. (-12.5) MIL| O/U:233.5
•CHI(-1) vs. NO| O/U: 227.0
•PHO vs. (-3.5) DEN| O/U:232.0
Darius Garland- 40+ mins in 5 out of last six games. 20+ points in the previous eight games. Double-digit assists in 4 out of the previous five. Two slow-paced teams with the lowest o/u-$9.5k is a bargain for the playmaking guard.
Jrue Holiday(8.2k)-With no Middleton, Holiday provided more scoring. 35% usage rate and 1.5 Fanduel points per minute in floor situations without Giannis or Middleton.
Fred Van Vleet(7.8k)-FVV has hit 6x value in back-to-back games -priced at 7.2k vs. LAL, 7.3k @ CHI. Toronto is on two days’ rest, which is the best-case scenario for FVV playing through injury.
Tyrese Haliburton(7.5k)- 53.5 Fanduel points last night, Highest o/u (237.5) on the slate Vs. Grizzlies and Memphis rank 4th in pace. Oh, His price went down from 7.9k last night. All the makings for an encore fantasy performance-currently monitoring a sore back. It’s a plus-matchup for Indiana guards.
Cam Payne(6.5k)- Started 11 straight games and has averaged 14.1 points, 9.5 assists, 4.0 assists & 1.1 steals. 30.5 minutes is a solid floor & a 24% usage rate. (Keep in Mind, CP3 is probable)
Jose Alvarado(5.4K)-22 minutes in each of the last 3. Three or more steals in 3 out of the previous 5. Alvarado averages 1.0 fantasy points per minute. The matchup vs. CHI(who ranks 12th in Fantasy points per game vs. PGs) Fits the criteria for a solid performance.
De’Anthony Melton(5.4K)- Double figures in the games with Ja Morant sidelined. Season High in points on Wednesday-23 points in 27 minutes vs. BKN. No Ja tonight? I see potential fire lineups with Melton.
Bones Hyland(5.2k)-Minutes are hard to predict, but Bones gives the bench the spark the Nuggets need. He’s scored 10 points in the last seven games while contributing in other stat categories.
Tyus Jones(5.1k)- back to back 30 point Fanduel performances, first double-double of the season, team-high in assists. 30.5 mins per game in 17 starts this season.
Devin Booker(9.4k)-20+ in 14 straight games. 40+ fantasy points in 4 out of the last five games. 32.1% usage rate is worth being in your lineups as a core play.
CJ McCollum(8k)- 20+ points in 14 of last 15 games. 36.1 Fanduel points per game on 26.5% usage rate. He’ll be relied on heavily for Pelicans vs. Chicago -who ranks 12th in fantasy points given up to guards.
Scottie Barnes(7.9k)- Back-to-back games under 30 fantasy points. Lowest implied team total on the slate. Last time, he had a 7.9k salary; he got 7.7 times the value with 61.4 points vs. Lakers. Which Scottie do you think we get tonight?
Desmond Bane(7.5k)- 34+ Fanduel points in 4 out of last five games. Bane has scored 20+ points in 7 out of the previous nine games. 0.9 fantasy points per minute this season- with a 23.0% usage rate. He needs 45 FFP to reach six times the value tonight. Do you think he hits that?
Mikal Bridges(6.8k)- Bridges has scored 15+ points in 7 of his last 8. We know he can contribute to all statistical categories, but does it happen against Denver on the second night of a B2B? I doubt Bridges can hit six times the value at this price-0.76 Fanduel fantasy points per minute this season.
Jaxon Hayes (5.6k)- Despite 16% usage in 14 minutes per game, Hayes’ value continues to rise, and his price reflects it. 69% true shooting percentage showcases the efficiency. 0.95 Fanduel points per minute with 31 minutes in back-to-back games? Hayes needs 33 FFP to hit 6times the value vs. Chicago.
Jaren Jackson(6.6k)- Price feels cheap considering Giannis & Demar are out at PF position. The Unicorn would be the highest-priced projected PF on the slate- plus matchup vs. IND, he’s scored in double figures in 8 straight games, and has multiple blocks in 7 out of the last 8.
Nikola Jokic(11.8k)- It’s Joker. Don’t overthink it. Jokic averages 1.6 fantasy points per minute(highest on the slate), faces Phoenix – ranked 9th in pace in NBA (which means Jokic will have to play faster), and the game is a 4 point spread suggesting a competitive match.
Nikola Vucevic(6.7k)- Jonas Valanciunas might be the famous play after delivering 60.1 fantasy points @ Charlotte. Tonight’s matchup vs. New Orleans is the perfect storm for Vuc. With Demar DeRozan out, this could lead to Vucevic’s 24.5% usage rate growing larger. New Orleans ranks 22nd in fantasy points given up to Centers. Nikola Vucevic also records 1.23 fantasy points per minute-third highest on the slate behind Jokic & Porzingis.
Kristaps Porzingis(8.4K)- No Kuzma, No problem. No Kuzma for another night? No problem being the guy that carries the offensive load tonight vs. Milwaukee. No Giannis on the Court? More eyes on Kristaps. More importantly, Porzingis boasts a 1.31 fantasy points per minute clip & 37.5 FFPG.
PG- Alex Caruso(4.4K)
SF- Buddy Hield(5.6k)
